Because of strong confidence gained from plenty of award, the Daegu Jung-gu decided to grow the modern-alley-tour into a representative tourist attraction of Korea. 



The modern-alley–tour in Daegu will be more upgraded. Because of strong confidence gained from plenty of award, the Daegu Jung-gu decided to grow the modern-alley-tour into a representative tourist attraction of Korea.

“We are planning how we make the tour package for the modern-alley-tour which voted seventh must-see tourist attraction in Korea as befits its reputation and awareness.”, said an official at Jung-gu office on last 4th.

There are two developmental directions for the modern-alley-tour. These are ensuring internal stability by modifying tour-course and attracting tourists with even more outlandish ideas.

The first one is the projects for creation of the Specialized Street.

As a part of city-vitality-promotion-projects, Jung-gu office is now arranging ‘symbolic street of Daegu fortress’, ‘emperor Sunjong’s street’, ‘memory-stirring Namsan Hwaweon Dure-gil’, etc.

By making ‘Jingolmok specialized street project’, we make reinforcement work for a wall and improve roofs, street lamps, and other facilities. After we develop these streets where modern culture is alive, and then, we will discover each story about these streets to make the tour package, this is a preconceived plan.

Soe Sangdon, management strategies manager of Jung-gu office, “If we are voted at an entry of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, we’ll also have support fund near 2.5billion. It can be largely helpful about thing to arrange around the streets and to develop contents.” He said.

They are also now active on the measures to promote.

In March this year, Jung-gu office is planning for Culture & Tour Guide with education and tour to advanced area. It’s special training for those who will work in the front lines of tourists. And also Jung-gu office is planning that they will teach as field education to 3,000 people like bus drivers and taxi drivers in order to train as promotion agent of the modern-alley-tour.

The launch of application which it has developed since last year for smart phone users is imminent. From this March, Jung-gu office will let it download at the Open Market.

Yun Soonyeong, the head of Jung-gu, “Because the interest about the modern-alley-tour is growing, we will do our utmost to make the more wonderful tour package.” She said.
