Seomun Market


There are in Daegu about forty traditional markets of different sizes. The largest of all these is Seomun Sijang (“West Gate Market”) known to have been formed in the 1600s as an Oiljang (“five-day market”), opening every fifth day from the second day of the month. Today, the market is open seven days a week.
